WHO IS AUNTIE DIA…
The heartbeat behind this shop and the real Auntie Dia is Andrea Pearlman - San Diego native, wife, mom, and graphic designer.
With an early passion for dressing Barbies and decorating doll houses, Andrea knew the design world someday would be her home. Graduating from UCLA in a pre iPhone time, Andrea joined the Trina Turk family, growing with the company for eight years. Starting in customer service and finally becoming Retail Director, Andrea opened their first stores in Palm Springs, Los Angeles and New York.
Eventually moving on to join the Splendid + Ella Moss team as Senior E-Commerce Manager, Andrea launched online shopping for both brands. She fostered her love for geometry, print and color at these three vibrant brands, honing her merchandising, buying and marketing skills.
Longing to be in the seat of the graphic designers she worked with, Andrea parted ways with the corporate world to go back to school and earn her graphic design degree while pregnant with her daughter. Friends and family tapped her to design wedding and shower invitations, birthday party invites, save the dates, place cards and all things paper. In 2014, she decided to create Auntie Dia and spread her designs for all to enjoy.
The goal of Auntie Dia is to help you figure out what you want and develop your own taste, putting together the pieces of design. Whatever your need, Andrea can help you make the best and most beautiful.
AUNTIE DIA WHO…
Andrea’s 2 year old cousin, coined the term “DIA” when she couldn’t pronounce “Andrea". Although 30 years has passed, the nickname has stuck.
Now, referred to “Auntie Dia” by her 10 nieces and nephews, Andrea realized it was the perfect name for her company as she is known as the fun, spontaneous, creative but responsible aunt.
